I’ve sat in the chair you’re sitting in right now.

Not as a founder, but as the person inside the organization who watched what happened when nobody had the time, the tools, or the backup to take care of their people properly. I’ve seen what it costs. Not just in turnover numbers or compliance fines. In real people.

I got into this work because I care about people. Genuinely, deeply, and sometimes inconveniently.

  • Not people as headcount.

  • Not people as a compliance risk or a line item on a budget.

  • People as a whole.

  • Complicated, exhausted, trying-their-best-with-what-they-have kind of people.

  • People who spend at least a third of their lives at work and deserve for that to mean something.

I’ve built HR functions from scratch at companies that didn’t know they needed one until something broke. Coached managers through the hardest conversation of their professional life. Watched new hires show up on day one to an organization that wasn’t ready for them. Witnessed HR leaders shove an EAP pamphlet to an employee who just needed an empathetic ear to listen to them.

I’m not here because HR is my area of expertise.

I’m here because people are.

And for a long time, I kept waiting for someone to build the thing that actually served them—the small businesses, the nonprofits, the growing teams doing real work with real people and no resources. The ones everyone else overlooked because they didn’t have the budget to make it worth someone’s while.

Well… I got tired of waiting. Nobody built it. So, I did.

I was raised in the country, where people are kind and life’s a little simpler. I still live that way—a humble one-story home, room for Rowdy to run around outside (yes, my dog definitely lives up to his name), some cows, and a very strong belief that the businesses doing the most important work in this country are the ones that get the least support when it comes to their people.

Lantern People Systems exists to change that.

Not by handing you a report or selling you a platform. By rolling up our sleeves, learning your business, speaking plain English, and building people systems for the long-haul.

I believe every business — regardless of size, industry, or budget — deserves access to great people strategy and a partner ready to show up for them.
